An Exhibition at Adelaide Central Gallery 9.July – 4.August 2018

in partnership with Guildhouse, this exhibition reflects in sensitive contemplation on the fabric of female identity.

Kay Lawrence spent ages weaving a text found in an old diary of her (past) self into an eight meter long tapestry. Pierre Mukeba presents us with heartbreakingly beautiful textile paintings that incorporate his experience as a child growing up in a war-zone. Jane Skeer has packed up her late mothers clothes into loaded storing bags, she is memorising the mothers touch in three video works.

Then myself; recording the female presence in urban and suburban environment. Last Name, a project developed together with Elke Krasny in Vienna, a series of photographs and text, adapted to Adelaide. My Name is a wall-painting about ownership, claiming visibility of female representation throughout public space.
