As for myself I increasingly feel the need to double check my presence through touch, in the attempt to bridge the gap between a visual appearance and the kinetic experience of being alive. As an everyday record, I transfer my changing profile as a landscape of assurance onto paper.

In these drawings, the paper is warped into three-dimensional forms through the pressure against the underlying landscape. The paper captures the tracks inscribed into skin, thereby replicating almost a ghost of a portrait.
